A Journey to the
Ucayali River Amazon Jungle
to the tobacco fields and sacred trees

an opportunity to meet the master plants in their natural environment

You Are Warmly Invited

🌿

Join us on a special journey along the Ucayali River in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon. Together, we will visit traditional tobacco farms, spend time with sacred tobacco plants and medicinal trees, and learn directly from local families who carry generations of ancestral wisdom.

Our journey takes place near the beautiful Pacaya Samiria National Reserve — one of the world's most biodiverse ecosystems. We will explore the surrounding jungle by boat and on foot, discovering the incredible natural world that calls this region home.

Along the way, we may encounter river dolphins, monkeys, caimans, and many other remarkable creatures. More importantly, we will slow down, listen to the jungle, and open ourselves to the teachings of the master plants.

✦ 50% of profits are dedicated to planting trees in the Amazon rainforest.

The Guides

🌿

Tabaquera · Mamakunawa Lineage

Merav Artzi

Merav is a dedicated plant medicine practitioner trained in the Mamakunawa tradition, a lineage rooted in the sacred relationship between humans and the tobacco plant. She has spent years studying under indigenous maestros in the Peruvian Amazon, developing a deep understanding of traditional healing practices.

Her work bridges ancient wisdom and modern hearts, offering participants a safe, intentional container in which to connect with the master plants and the intelligence of the jungle.

Jungle Guide · Amazon Native

Jorge Jhoulio Palla Chávez

Jorge was born and raised along the banks of the Ucayali River, and the Amazon jungle is his home in the most literal sense. He has guided expeditions through the region for over fifteen years, earning a reputation for extraordinary knowledge of local flora, fauna, and river navigation.

With Jorge at the helm of our boat and on the jungle trails, you are in the hands of someone who reads the forest the way others read books — fluently, joyfully, and with profound respect.

Schedule

🌿
01
Arrival & Orientation

Meet at the port of Iquitos and board our river boat. As we travel upstream along the Ucayali, Jorge introduces us to the landscape and Merav opens our journey with a traditional tobacco ceremony to set our intentions and greet the spirit of the forest.

02
The Tobacco Fields

A full day with local tobacco farmers from families who have cultivated mapacho for generations. We learn to recognize the plants, understand the harvesting process, and hear stories of how tobacco has been used as a sacred teacher and healer across centuries.

03
Deep Jungle & Sacred Trees

On foot into the primary rainforest near Pacaya Samiria. Jorge leads us to ancestral tree medicine sites — massive ceibo trees, ayahuasca vines, and medicinal plants used for generations. The afternoon is reserved for reflection, journaling, and a plant bath ceremony.

04
River, Wildlife & Community

An early morning river expedition by boat in search of pink river dolphins, caimans, and exotic birdlife. In the afternoon we visit a riverside indigenous community, sharing a meal with local families and participating in a traditional craft workshop.

05
Integration & Ceremony

A day of stillness and integration. Morning meditation at the water's edge, followed by a closing tobacco ceremony with Merav. We gather in circle to share what the journey has opened in each of us, and plant a tree together in honor of the forest.

06
Return & Farewell

A gentle morning on the river as we make our way back to Iquitos. Time for final reflections, exchange of contacts, and a shared farewell meal. We depart carrying the scent of the jungle, the memory of the plants, and seeds of something new within us.
